7th Street was the entertainment and social center for the black community and people on the go who were looking for a good time in the city of Oakland, California.7th Street had the world famous Slim Jenkins Club, known as a "high class" blues & jazz club in Oakland. Slim Jenkins included a restaurant, bar and show room. There was something for everyone in 7th Street. Lined up and down 7th Street were "hole in the wall clubs" or the classier clubs like Slim Jenkins. All of the clubs on 7th Street were packed every night of the week, especially Friday and Saturday nights. This CD is a tribute to the music that was being played on 7th Street, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Both Wylie Trass and Teddy "Blues Master" Watson performed on 7th Street. According to Wylie and Teddy, all of the songs on this CD were very popular during 7th Street's heyday. This is the first CD that will allow the musicians to tell the story of "The Music They Played on 7th Street" in Oakland, one of the birthplaces of West Coast Blues.
