The Fatt Lapp Blues Band was formed in 1996, in Grand Rapids, MI, by Bass Guitarist, Asamu "Sam" Johnson. Fatt Lapp has formed a bond between Chicago Style Blues, and Funk, to create a unique danceable sound that can be enjoyed by listeners of any age. In their own research, Fatt Lapp has found that their music is most enjoyed by any level of listeners.
Fatt Lapp has played most of the festivals held throughout the state of Michigan, and has gotten rave reviews from all of the local Blues Society publications. Fatt Lapp released their first CD in 1998, titled: "Boogie This Blues", which sold out in the first two months, even though it was only sold locally. In 2001, Fatt Lapp formed a relationship with Blue Tiger Enterprises, which later became Phat Phlow Records, Inc. Through this union, Fatt Lapp released their second CD, titled: "Bow Legs & Big Feet". Their second CD is currently in their second distribution, and is still going strong.
