John's latest cd release is Nothin's Easy- The review is just in from La Hora Del Blues in Barcellona Spain and it's "four stars" MUY BUENO - GREAT! THE ALBUM IS BEING FEATURED THIS MONTH ON THE BLUES HOUR SHOW. Cugno can be heard at various clubs and festivals in the Northwest. He plays eastern Oregon and Idaho alot with his pals Jimmy Lloyd Rea and Jerry Smith and Phil Garonzik. He also plays the McCall ID area as a solo and with his "Kid" band- 2 young side men with Beau Belton singing Dave Mathews tunes and Levi Burden on the drums.
"Nothin's Easy" is being played on many US and European stations- and many web casts. Soon John will be touring Europe.
Some of John's tunes are not pure blues but contain many elements of the blues with a rock, country and jazz feel. The song "Guadalajara" has become a regional hit and is not a "blues" tune. It's about a trip to Mexico with his buddy Seymour in 1980. Seymour owned the ski lodge in Vermont where John played and where he met his wife Kelly. This album has alot of traditional blues hooks and unusual twists.Lottsa stories!
