The Delta Dave Blues Band
Featuring
"Delta" Dave Johnson-Harmonica/vocals
With
Arthur King-Guitar
Greg Cuje-Double Bass
Jim Weber-Drums

Formed as the Pignose Blues Band in 1999, Dave and his band of seasoned blues men have been bringing their authentic blues sound to clubs, festivals, and events throughout the U.S.A

The Delta Dave Blues Bands debut CD, titled for Dave's original tune "Pignose Boogie", stays true to blues tradition. Recorded live at Cypress Studio in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, what you hear is what they played. With swinging shuffles, pounding stomps, and straight ahead boogies, the bands sound includes country blues from the Mississippi Delta to the city blues of Southside Chicago.

The "Real Deal" is what has been said about Dave Johnson. Playing his music in the street as a young man, Dave honed his skills as a blues man. Listening only to the masters of blues, Dave has earned the right to play with most of the living blues legends around the world. A few of these are: Little Smoke Smothers and Snooky Pryor in Europe, and R.L. Burside in Montreal. Most recently, Delta Dave played with W.C. Handy award winner John Hammond Jr. in Jacksonville Beach, Florida

Boston born Arthur King is sure to be known as one of blues' great guitarists. Arthur experienced much success fronting his own band for years in the northest; his EP "Blues Time" was recorded on Back Alley records. Arthur's style reflects the works of blues greats like Eddie Taylor, Hubert Sumlin and Luther Tucker. He has also played with King Snake recording artist Joe Beard and others.

Jim Weber grew up in Western New York State. Influenced by the dynamic sound of blues drummer Fred Below, Jim joined the Amazing Zinc King rhythm section. He not only played the clubs of upstate New York and Canada; he also traveled the Eastern and Southwest U.S. Jim joined Dave's Pignose Blues Band in the Fall of 2000 and now is considered a core member.

Bassist Greg Cuje is a graduate of The University of North Florida Jazz program. He was raised in Washington D.C. where his father and uncle are accomplished jazz musicians. Greg earned his degree as a performing guitarist and has played for years locally and regionally. As a member of The Delta Dave Blues Band, Greg is preserving the art of the blues bass brought to popularity by double bassist and songwriter Willie Dixon.
