Five long years have past since these veteran Blues Players found themselves sitting in at Blues Jams around the Iowa City Area. A few months later the Tornadoes emerged as one of the Midwest's hottest Blues bands.
Dan Berkowitz- a long time fixture of the Northwest Coast's Blues scene anchors the mix with his rock solid electric upright bass lines. He also plays bass guitar on a couple of tunes. Bob Goffstein- came up in the Minneapolis club scene in the 60's and 70's and plays guitar in similar style to players of that era such as Freddy King and Hubert Sumlin. Tim Hansen- Hails from San Francisco and plays guitar in a more contemporary style. His stinging guitar lines and onstage antics are a hallmark of Tornado concerts. Rich Paterson- an Iowa City Native, Rich has an extensive musical background including Jazz, Country, and Symphonic Percussion. He drives the Blues backbeat like a veteran of smoky southside Chicago lounges. Jim Rossen- Last alphabetically but certainly in no way least musically, Jim started his musical odyssey in Ann Arbor with a several year residence in Chicago where he absorbed the Harp sound and feel of the Windy City Masters.
