February 22,l997 was a chilly night in the corrider at the *Old Miami*
bar, in old Detroit. Outside the hookers walked the streets , while watching for police cars. Now and then several would wander in the bar. They looked in amazement at the captivating, red headed singer, who was called *queen of the delta blues*. She was a master of the double-entendre .. She sang *I ain*t no groupie, I got a guitar of my own, and The Hooking blues, or *poor little hooker*. What a band! The Delta Children Blues Band. You could almost see the tears and sweat falling from the guitar of Emmitte Muckles. The blues had jump from him to the *very young*. The very young was Quinton Harris. on keybroads. The 98 dollar toy keybroad he played sounded like a hammond organ. The sound was kept tight by *Cleo* on bass. Mary Thompson is one blues singer who *feels* the music.. She is very good at *stroking* that *Nighthawk*. She could be a *female* Big Bill Broonzy. This is the first nine tracks of this marvelous, exciting cd. FJ-Underground Blues Press Track List: 1.
