Long Island - Fifteen-year-old Cristina Ferraro has just completed her newest undertaking, "One Spirit, One Heart," a CD of her own arrangements of personal favorite worship songs from the Jubilee 2000 song book. This CD will be sold at her Parish, St. Sylvester's Roman Catholic Church in Medford, NY, for fifteen ($15) a piece. All of the proceeds will go to benefit their church restoration program. The diocese of Rockville Center will be matching the amount that Cristina's record label, Eastern Star Records will be donating. "I wanted to do something within my scope and abilities to give back to God and my church for all they have done for me," says Cristina. And these acoustic nuances are stunning. Recording and mixed at VuDu Studios, Freeport, New York, this album resounds with the acoustic only heard on professional recordings. Sixteen songs of brilliantly interlaced harmonies comprise this Spirit-inspired accomplishment.
Making CD's is not unusual for Cristina. After all, she's been playing piano since the age of three doing arrangements since she was eight. At thirteen she was doing professional recordings and has eight (8) demo CD's to her credit. Last December, she arranged and performed all the music for an original version of "A Christmas Carol," presented at BayWay Arts Center. Her publishing company, NavyBaby Music (ASCAP) has been established for over a year.
"My current goals include continuing to play for my church, doing song-leading, and recording a full album of R&B/Pop originals," states this young composer/performer/musician. Cristina certainly has been blessed with the talent, drive, dedication and skill to continue along her path. Cristina Ferraro smiles humbly and says, "I thank God, my parents, my friends, and all those who have believed in me. My life is rich and full, and it is privilege to be in a position to give of myself so that others may benefit!"
