In 1993 Michael LeFèvre was awarded first prize at both the Portland International Guitar Festival and at the Northwest Guitar Festival held in Bellingham, Washington. In 1995 he took first prize at the International Guitar Congress-Festival in Corfu, Greece, where contestants were required to present only 20th Century repertoire. In addition to frequent solo recitals, including featured performances at the Northwest Guitar Festival, the Frye Concert Series, and at St. James Cathedral's Chapel Concert Series, he has also performed with the Seattle Opera, The New Performance Group, in guitar duet with Steven Novacek and with Apostolos Paraskevas, and in guitar quartet with the Seattle Guitar Quartet. He has appeared on television in Crete, Greece, and has given numerous live broadcasts on public radio. In 2001, Michael received the Northwest Young Artists Award-Tour, which is open to all solo classical instrumentalists. A 1992 graduate of Seattle's Cornish College of the Arts, where he was a student of Steven Novacek, Michael has also performed in master classes for some of the world's most renowned soloists, including David Russell, Eduardo Fernandez, Pepe Romero, and Paul O'Dette. His first solo recording, Chronicle, was released on the Rosewood Recordings label in 2003.
