Nikola Starcevic, classical guitar player, composer and arranger,
was born in 1980 and lives in Belgrade-Serbia. In June 2003 he graduated at the Belgrade Music Academy - FMU, in Professor Vera Ogrizovic’s class, and now he works as a classical guitar teacher in the music high school ''Mokranjac'' in Belgrade. He plays and composes very different kinds of music for guitar, chamber and symphonic orchestra. Famous guitarists perform his pieces: Manuel Babiloni (Spain), Marcus Vinicius (Italy), Terci – Korad duo (Тurkey)... IV movement of his concerto for a guitar & orchestra ''Maestral'', as solo version named ''Il Fuoco'', is dedicated to Christopher Parkening (USA) and also performed by him. He is a member of Duo Starcevic and of the acoustic guitar ensemble Trio Balkan Strings, a family project where his father, brother and he compose and perform the original Balkan instrumental music. Recently they have signed a contract with Sunset-France-PlayaSound for publishing the new CD all over the world. The publisher for Serbia and Montenegro is PGP RTS, Belgrade. The concert concept is based on the Balkan music for the guitar trio, and also classical and modern guitar music (Duo Starcevic). Nikola Starcevic  won first prize and the Dolphin statue in a category -Classic guitar- diplomati, and Trio Balkan Strings won first prize and the Dolphin statue for being the best instrumental ensemble on the Music World 2004 – Festival Internacionale Fivizzano in Italy. To promote the new CD, trio have performed on many music festivals and concerts in Serbia, Bosnia, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Russia… PGP RTS also published Nikola’s CD Classical Hits and Modern Guitar World performed by his brother Zeljko and him (Duo Starcevic). The CD contains his pieces and well known classical compositions. Nikola won first prize in the World category of the 2005 USA Songwriting Competition with composition Water-mill, performed by Trio Balkan Strings.
