The Dan DeChellis Chamber Ensemble was formed in 2000 with the release of Chamber Music on Sachimay Records. The leader of this ensemble, Dan DeChellis has been an active member of the Boston and New York Improv scene for nearly 8 years. He was one of the founding members of the Improvised & Otherewise Festival in New York and was a member of Boston Public Works which gave periodic concerts of new music at Harvard University. He also founded Sachimay Records, his own record label in 1996 with the release of his first disc, Shapes, also available through Cd Baby. The DeChellis Chamber Quartet is a truncated version of the Chamber Ensemble featuring: Anita DeChellis - voice, Dan DeChellis - piano, Katt Hernandez - violin, Gary Fieldman - percussion. Each continue to work in either the classical music world or in the improvisational scenes throughout the United States. The music of this ensemble seeks to blur the line between Improvisation and Composition. In the simplest of terms, composition has long been regarded as something that requires paper and pen. In today's world, this is simply not the case. The end product of this ensembles composing is the recorded document as opposed to the score. Perhaps this prohibits reproduction of the exact piece of music, but then again, perhaps it doesn't.... Check out the artist's website: http://www.sachimayrecords.com Track List: 1. Be Atitudes 2.
