The Christmas Album is an eclectic offering of orchestral, jazz, rock, world, and new age musical styles skillfully blended into the unique vision of keyboardist/producer/arranger Thomas Michael Rutter.
The Christmas Album was made with a vast assortment of synthesizers and samplers, and has to be one of the most emotionally charged and dynamic recordings in that genre.
This is music that can be enjoyed not only during the holidays, but all throughout the year.
Read what Richard Banks of Christmasreviews.com had to say about Thomas Michael Rutter - The Christmas Album
"...Mr. Rutter has built this work using only his piano and keyboards and his skills and imagination as a producer and arranger. And what an imagination! I "got" more of this the more times I listened, and the louder I turned up the volume. I finally sat through it once, on the floor, between the speakers, getting the full effects of the strong percussive bass track. What a ride!
...This truly is challenging work, featuring stylistically embellished arrangements of holiday classics. I particularly enjoyed the middle eastern stylings on Pat-A-Pan.
Mr Rutter is a musician who is at home in all musical genres. The Christmas Album displays his formidable talents, as player, arranger, and producer. The result is a CD performance I am tempted to leave in the changer, even as my holiday review work piles up".
