I didn't want to create just another piano CD that had the same songs that keep popping up on endless albums. I wanted to sing a few of my songs that have only been heard by the practice room and a select few.
"All of this time that now has been wasted could have been spent in Another's Embraces." states the chorus of the title track. The song symbolizes one's attachment and loss to a person who meant so much over a period of time - then somehow evolved into another person.
Do You See Me - Snapshots of a variety of characters who are living their lives as best that they can. Looking for someone - "just to have somebody care" - hold their hand for a little comfort.
Minimum Wage - Everyone has had their first job that wasn't the greatest.
Alone again- A song to those who have gone away whether by their choice or not.
Wide Open Are Your Hands - "Take me in your arms of justice, hold me in your hands of peace." The verses are from an old hymn with an added chorus.
Table for One - A spoken track. A tale of obsession? Just plain strange? someone on the rebound? or was it a very extraordinary meal?
Parlor Rag - Traditional Ragtime piano format. (original)
Shortening Bread - familiar folktune with additional connecting material.
Remaining Instrumental tracks:
Memory of You- The happier times that are remembered of someone no longer in your day to day life.
Elizabeth- When I look at the stars at night, I find that none shine as bright as those that burn in your eyes.
Mira's Song- a song that came about from a friend's conversation with his daughter.
