The instrumental guitar music on "Gratitude" earned Sir Charles a fellowship from the Arkansas Arts Council. This veteran peformer has performed at the same festival as Los Romeros and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Hammer played rock 'n roll guitar as a young teen, performed with bands through his 20's. He lived in Mexico for 5 years where he mastered the classical guitar and became fluent in Spanish. Later he received his Masters in Music degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where he taught guitar and music history for 5 years.. His music reflects his diverse interests and eclectic tastes; Spanish/Classical guitar, rock and roll electric guitar (Beatles), the Brazilian bossa nova and acoustic pop music like Led-Zeppelin unplugged.
