Bringing It Home is an excellent "sampler" or introduction to the music of Harper Tasche. Included in this collection are upbeat contemporary pieces; lyrical classical works; music from Ireland, Norway, and France; and music for meditation. This is pure music with acoustic instruments -- without heavy reverb, "nature sounds," or synthesizers. Features the folk harp, the rare cross-strung harp, bowed psaltery, and recorder.
"Once again, Harper Tasche has created music in which the innate lightness and warmth of the harp rises effortlessly... [with] a distinctly recognizable, old-world feel, even when performing original compositions. The sound is magical, refreshing and transparent... I listened to it every day for weeks." The Folk Harp Journal HARPER TASCHE holds a unique and prominent place in the folk harp world. He is internationally known as an expert on cross-strung and small folk harps, distilling European, Scandinavian, Celtic and American music into a distinctive and intensely lyrical style. Based in Seattle, he also holds the title "Millennium Harper of Washington State" from the Harping for Harmony Foundation. Harper can be reached via www.harpcrossing.com.
