Watching an Invocal show can be a bumpy ride - one minute you can be laughing out loud at songs that riotously celebrate lesbian life in straightsville, the next you might be reaching for a stiff drink as the songs begin tell stories of grave and personal issues such mental illness and broken hearts. Thankfully the girls never take themselves too seriously for too long – once they hit on life’s dark side it’s never long before you are smiling again, or at least enjoying their creative use of expletives!
The band hail from Northampton, a midlands town notable for its historical shoe industry and ... regular trains to London ... and have toured all over the UK and Republic of Ireland. They are enjoying a growing presence on the folk and acoustic scene, with followers favouring their genuine originality, humour, and great musicianship.
