I have been a working guitarist my entire adult life. As such, I've played every conceivable kind of music (on many different instruments) from rock to blues to bluegrass to disco, and I've noticed many common elements in styles of music that on the surface seem to have little in common. I've often found myself applying elements of one style or genre to another.
On this CD, I've taken my favorite instrument, the pedal steel guitar, and used it to play many of my favorite pieces of classical music. The pedal steel guitar is if course used primarily in country music. I believe however, that it is far more versatile than most people realize. It is not a country instrument, but an instrument, period, and as such can be used in many ways, in many genres. I've put together this, as well as my other CD (West Side Story, also available from CD Baby) in order to show how beautiful and expressive this instrument is. It is my goal to introduce this instrument to the classical music community. Check out the artist's website: http://perlowinmusic.com Track List: 1. Fanfare For the Common Man (Copland) 2.
