Double Rainbow is an instrumental album by Maryland area guitarist-arranger-composer Phil Sims. It makes use of classic and electric guitar, voice, saxophone, sitar, synthesizers, digital samples, and various percussion instruments. The eclectic blend flows seamlessly from one style to another. A well-planned program of Modern Impressionistic ideas.

Sims deals this hand with imagination and intensity which are apparent in his virtuoso guitar technique, as well as his complex arrangements. Once again we experience a sonic fabric woven from jazz, classical, new age, film score, folk, and world music.

Lou Gabriele, a Maryland area Tai Chi Master, likes to tell this story about the album: I had just received a copy of the album, which I like to play as background music for my classes. When I showed the album to a friend at a party, the strangest thing happened. We both looked up at the same time as a beautiful rainbow appeared where we were standing. The rainbow appeared to end at our feet.

Mystical? Coincidental? In any case, it speaks well to the imaginative power of this music.
