I have loved to sing ever since I was a little girl. I would listen for hours to my Broadway musical records - from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Lerner & Loewe - and I would try to emulate the styles of the vocalists on those records. My Mother would patiently listen and critique me, saying "...hold onto the note..." or "...sing that a little slower and with more feeling..." So, although I don't have what one would consider a "professionally trained" voice, I think I've had some pretty good training, thanks to my Mom and my old record player.

Growing up in Connecticut and later South Florida, I sang in school choirs and in various school productions. When I was a teenager, I began singing for my parish church, St. Judes. I sang most Sundays and led the congregation in song as a cantor (song leader) for a number of years. After college and marriage, I returned to South Florida and continued to sing for church services as well as for funerals, weddings and other special occasions.

In 1994, my husband and I moved to Georgia where I began cantoring again at some of the local churches in our area. I still love to sing and whenever an opportunity to sing publicly comes along, I welcome it. It's something I've always enjoyed and the thrill of being on stage and singing to a receptive audience is like no other.

In 2002, I made the decision to make my first vocal recording. It was a long road getting to that point, but once I decided to do it, all the details came together pretty smoothly. "Serenity" is a result of a combination of efforts and the songs selected for the album are favorite spiritual / inspirational songs of my family's and mine. Recording this album is a dream come true. I hope you enjoy listening to these selections as much as I've enjoyed recording them.
