In demand as a recitalist and clinician for the Edwards Instrument Company, Mr. Markey has been a featured artist at the International Trombone Festival, the Eastern Trombone Workshop, and the conferences of the New Jersey Music Educators' Association and the New York State School Music Association.
An active instructor, Mr. Markey has given masterclasses at Rutgers University and the Boston Conservatory. Mr. Markey maintains an active teaching schedule as Trombone Faculty for The Juilliard School Pre-College and as Adjunct Faculty for New York University, and has served as Adjunct Faculty for Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York.
Mr. Markey attended the Juilliard School, where he studied with Joseph Alessi. His principal teachers include Mr. Alessi, Gary Quam and Lucian Costanzo.
In addition to this recording, Mr. Markey is a featured soloist on a recording of the Nilovic Double Concerto for Two Trombones with the Hora Decima Brass Ensemble.
