VIOLIN PIANO DUO OF VOLODJA BALZALORSKY AND HINKO HAAS:
Volodja Balzalorsky and Hinko Haas, both prominent Slovene artists from Ljubljana, have made their name by highly acclaimed concerts in many countries, as soloists and as members of various chamber ensembles.
As a Duo they appeared for the first time in 1979, at the "Ohrid Summer Festival", and have been giving regular joint performances since 1986. They have successfully performed in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Macedonia, Yugoslavia and Germany in various International concert series and Festivals such as:
Ljubljana Summer Festival; Violin virtuosos - Belgrade; Ohrid Summer Festival; Concerts in Cankarjev dom - Ljubljana; Festival of contemporary music Radenci; Festival The Scene of Pristina; Concerts in HGZ - Zagreb; The Slovenian music days - Ljubljana; The European month of culture - Ljubljana etc.
Volodja Balzalorsky and Hinko Haas have recorded for the principal radio stations [Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade, Skopje, Maribor and Koper], for TV Slovenija, for LP and CD's, embracing a wide repertory of music from the classical era to the contemporary. Some of renowned Slovene composers have written music specifically for them to perform.
"Volodja Balzalorsky is passionately devoted to the violin, inspired by the flame which distinguishes the most refined and authentic violinists, and is capable of building the dramatic development of musical works in the most natural and persuasive manner. His interpretation calls for an enthusiastic and compassionate listener, which is the distinction of the rare born musician."
Slobodan Turlakov - "Vecerne novosti"
This well regarded critic described the artistic personality of Volodja Balzalorsky after his successful performance in the International concert series "Violin virtuosos", April 1988 in Belgrade.
Volodja Balzalorsky is one of the leading Slovenian violinists, and a frequent performer throughout Europe, and North America.
Critics have described him as an artist with a sensitive, intelligent and intuitive gift of interpretation, a polished technique, and a rich, full tone.
He is a member of the Amael Piano Trio, artistic director of

He is particularly active in the field of chamber music. He works with many ensembles, and for several
years has successfully performed in duet with pianists Christoph Theiler and Hinko Haas. Critics comment
on the degree to which he is able to develop and maintain unity with his
musical partners in this milieu, presenting "...an exceptional harmony of
ease and authenticity of performance."
He was solo violinist and concert master of the Freiburger Barocksolisten in Germany, with whom he recorded two CD's, and has been a soloist with orchestras in Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
