The LIVE COLLECTION of Volodja Balzalorsky is a unique presentation of the violinist's live recordings, made together with his regular chamber music partners from 1985 onwards. They are taken from recordings for broadcasting made by national radio stations in various countries, including Radio Slovenia, Radio Croatia-Zagreb, Radio Slovenia-Regional Centre Maribor, together with presentations of live recordings made by "Cantabel Productions".The collection includes CDs comprising live recordings of complete concerts at various International festivals and concert series (Vienna, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Maribor, Rogaska Slatina, Zemono), and also CDs with live recordings selected from other concerts and from the concerts described above. VIOLIN PIANO DUO OF VOLODJA BALZALORSKY AND HINKO HAAS: Volodja Balzalorsky and Hinko Haas, both prominent Slovene artists from Ljubljana, have made their name by highly acclaimed concerts in many countries, as soloists and as members of various chamber ensembles. As a Duo they appeared for the first time in 1979, at the "Ohrid Summer Festival", and have been giving regular joint performances since 1986. They have successfully performed in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Macedonia, Yugoslavia and Germany in various International concert series and Festivals such as: Ljubljana Summer Festival; Violin virtuosos - Belgrade; Ohrid Summer Festival; Concerts in Cankarjev dom - Ljubljana; Festival of contemporary music Radenci; Festival The Scene of Pristina; Concerts in HGZ - Zagreb; The Slovenian music days - Ljubljana; The European month of culture - Ljubljana etc. Volodja Balzalorsky and Hinko Haas have recorded for the principal radio stations [Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade, Skopje, Maribor and Koper], for TV Slovenija, for LP and CD's, embracing a wide repertory of music from the classical era to the contemporary. Some of renowned Slovene composers have written music specifically for them to perform. Slobodan Turlakov - "Vecerne novosti" This well regarded critic described the artistic personality of Volodja Balzalorsky after his successful performance in the International concert series "Violin virtuosos", April 1988 in Belgrade. Volodja Balzalorsky is one of the leading Slovenian violinists, and a frequent performer throughout Europe, and North America. Critics have described him as an artist with a sensitive, intelligent and intuitive gift of interpretation, a polished technique, and a rich, full tone. He is a member of the Amael Piano Trio, artistic director of Ensemble Ouverture, and Professor of Violin at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana. After graduating from the class of professor Igor Ozim at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany, he continued his studies in Moscow with Galina Barinova at the Conservatorium P.I.Tchaikovsky, with Josip Klima at the Music Academy in Zagreb, where he received his Master's Degree, and with the eminent Czech violinist Josef Suk at the Universität für Musik in Vienna. He has made many solo and chamber music appearances in concert and on broadcasts and recordings in Slovenia and abroad, and has been a regular guest at international festivals in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Croatia, Yugoslavia and the Czech Republic. He is particularly active in the field of chamber music. He works with many ensembles, and for several years has successfully performed in duet with pianists Christoph Theiler and Hinko Haas. Critics comment on the degree to which he is able to develop and maintain unity with his musical partners in this milieu, presenting "...an exceptional harmony of ease and authenticity of performance." He was solo violinist and concert master of the Freiburger Barocksolisten in Germany, with whom he recorded two CD's, and has been a soloist with orchestras in Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, and the Czech Republic. He is also very interested in contemporary music, and regularly performs works written for him by Slovenian composers. He has also performed with the Percussion Plus Project in Prague, Venice, and the USA. Volodja Balzalorsky considers teaching an important and complementary part of his artistic career (Violin class at the Music Academy in Ljubljana), and regularly gives master classes in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Great Britain, and the United States. HINKO HAAS: HINKO HAAS is one of the leading Slovene pianists. As a soloist and member of numerous chamber groups he has given concerts in Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia and performed with Slovene and foreign orchestras and conductors. Hinko Haas has recorded for radio and television companies in Slovenia and abroad. Publishing houses of RTV Slovenia, Helidon and Edizione pizzicato have issued his recording on CD«s and cassettes.
