Born in Larder Lake, Ontario, Brett, was raised in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, where his mother still currently resides. He married in December 2003 and is now living in Belleville, Ontario, with his wife Rosanna and son Jamie.

Brett is an experienced, talented musician, and a very gifted singer / songwriter. He began writing and playing at the age of 12. The Beatles were a big influence in his life, and still are. However the greatest influence and inspiration in his life is Jesus Christ, and his lovely wife Rosanna.

During the 70's and 80's Brett had both single and album releases with many bands. He spent a decade, (1971-1980) developing and assisting other artists and releasing their efforts. Brett has worked with many artists in his tenure including Eileen (Shania) Twain in the infancy of her career as well as co-writing and producing songs for her manager Evelyn Kasner. (Mary Bailey) His career includes collaborated songwriting efforts with Larry Mercey (Mercey Brothers) and Steve Wilkinson (Wilkinson Family) and other US artists. He received the Governor General's Award for his song 'I Love You Canada' in 1992, which has since been released by Larry Mercey, Lilian and Manon, and The Torchmen.

Brett's first gospel album was never released, but popular US artists recorded many of his songs from the album. Among these, "If You Could See The Lord I See" performed by Jim Wilkerson, won a 'Dove' award. In 1993, Brett released an 11-song cd with the band 'Mainstreet'. This was recorded in Nashville and was produced by Scotty Turner and Eric Paul. Several of the songs on this cd were written by Brett and went on to top ten status, including "Your Star's Still Shining Bright" which was co-written by Brett and producer Scott Turner. This song was recorded by four different US artists in a 5-year period and has since become a classic country tune.

Brett's most recent project, Lead Me On, was started in February 2004 and completed in October. It will be released, God willing, the middle of March 2005.

Brett is currently working on his next project. (Crosses) This cd will consist of several un-released songs as well as a few new tunes. Brett records his music in his own home studio, however, he has been approached by Producers that would like to work with them in their own studio.
