Where to begin? It's not easy to describe someone with such an "eclectic" songwriting style as
Jonny Colley. As a singer/songwriter his music defies easy classification and can vary quite a bit from one CD to the next. "Someone once called me a "zen hillbilly moved uptown" and I think that's about as close as your gonna get in describing me and my style of music." Jonny grew up listening to his Dad playing country music. "Later, I branched out into folk, pop and mainly rock 'n' roll. I would have to say that my biggest musical influences were, and continue to be, The Beatles, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, and John Prine." Jonny has been performing in bands and as a solo acoustic singer/songwriter now for over twenty-five years. "These last several years, I've had people come up to me and ask me if I had a CD of some of my more country/bluegrass sounding songs and I would have to say; "I'll get right on that." Well folks, JONNY COLLEY: BUMPKINITIS is the result of that promise and it's well worth the wait. It's a singer/songwriter's foray into bluegrass. It's upbeat and fun with a number of super fine musicians contributing their talents. If you enjoy music you can sing along with, songs with catchy tunes and lyrics that convey intelligence and sincerity, with a little humor thrown in now and then, then check out "BUMPKINITIS". "I really enjoyed creating this CD, it brought me back to my roots and it was a very positive experience for me. I think those feelings come through in every song, especially the title track." Ladies and gentlemen, give this CD a listen, and soon, you too, will be coming down with a case of "BUMPKINITIS". Track List: 1. Love All Around 2. Frontier Woman 3. Bumpkinitis 4. Natural Things 5.
