Lorne Ryder played his first gig at the age of fifteen in Etobicoke, Ontario. Since then his music has found him performing across Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec as well as Nashville, Tenessee. He has also garnered himself with 3 top-ten nominations for CCMA (Canadian Country Music Awards) keyboard player of the year in 2004, 2005 & 2006. Lorne has played on recordings along side Wendall Ferguson, John Dymond and Jeff Healey.

Lorne first started singing and songwriting in the late eighties with his rock band “First and Last.” The band produced two albums, the second being co-produced by New York born producer Bob Gallo (Ben E. King, James Brown, The Nylons.) The band toured across Ontario and Manitoba for four years before going their separate ways. Lorne hit the road again in 1995 and toured off and on for a year and a half in a rock/top 40 band, “2 On Tour” with Toronto guitarist Marc Anthony.

This time upon his return home, Lorne started putting together a solo record featuring his country and folk influenced material. After receiving a FACTOR grant in 1998, Lorne was able to start the production process and the result was his debut album, “Ice Cream and Guns.” The title track was co-written by Lorne, Naiose Sheridan (Kenny Chesney, Kim Stockwood, Jason McCoy) and Toronto writer/producer Peter Linseman (Donna Ferra, Mia Kulba.)

“Ice Cream and Guns” is the result of Lorne's over 10 years of hard work in the music business and is influenced by his time travelling across Canada and the United States.
