(This was the first CD since "Grandview" in which all the songs were written for this specific CD itself. The 2 tapes I released after "Grandview" had songs I'd written before, during and after the recording of "Grandview" and they were more or less assemble into a record length format without them initially being conceived of in that manner. I have mixed feelings about this CD. The songs [for the most part] are very nice but something in the sound is not quite what I envisioned. It's not bad, it's just not quite what I had in mind. I love the opening three songs and the two closing numbers. In particular, I like "[She Wants] A Lot of Something Else" which was a true story that someone told me about a guy who tied his wife to the bedposts - at her insistence [Because she wanted to engage in a little sexual experimentation] - and then left her there while he went out to a bar.)

His interest lay primarily in documentary photography and this led him into certain social circles (Bikers, Drug Addicts, Debutantes, Wrestlers, Strippers, Socialites, Celebrities, etc.) that he found to be strangely new and oddly exciting. This vast and glorious parade of life re-ignited his desire to write songs. In 1995 he released his first CD of original material. He has since released 7 CD's, the latest being a live recording entitled "Maurice Mattei And A Room Full Of Victims". In addition to CD's, Mr. Mattei has released three cassette tapes, two 7-inch singles, one tape-cassette single and one CD single since 1995. Mr. Mattei has performed steadily since his 1995 release. He performs solo and prefers to be an opening act since this allows him to get home at a reasonable hour.
