I wanted to record with little use of technology so I self-produced an acoustic (sorta) record entitled "Me And My Shadow". Although doing some overdubs at my own studio, "The Bell", I recorded the majority of the record at Sonikwire Studios in Irvine, CA.
The record is driven by a Martin OM28 acoustic guitar, accentuated with textures of old Wurlitzer and Rhodes pianos, a string quartet and a MandoGuitar. While it's pretty much an acoustic record there's a couple songs drums and such.
If you must coin a phrase the record could be called "Retro-Modern-Alt-Americana". Not quite a Johnny Cash experience, but major influences I must admit.
