Reverend Shane grew up in Exeter,Ca.in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. As a young boy the Rev was influenced by the music his father would listen to, Such as: Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, and George Jones.

In the Summer of 77'Reverend Shane's Brother, on a visit home from college, taught him three chords on the guitar-G C D. This unlocked the basic formula for many songs the Rev heard as a child. Two weeks later the Rev bought a cheap guitar with the money he had earned sacking groceries. He learned all the major chords and a few variations.

Today as a songwriter, Reverend Shane is still influenced by the artists he and his daddy would listen to years ago. Great songwriters such as: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, and Billy Joe Shaver also influence him.
