After 36 years of road work on guitars and harmonica it was time take a break and record some of the songs I’d written on the way. Two years later New Modern Country Classics Volume 1 is ready. New Modern Country Classics Volume 2 will be ready shortly and a chill album called Bay Skyline Chill, so if you like the first one, there’s more of the same on it’s way.
Due to a series of broken promises of assistance in making the albums, I ended up writing, performing and producing the whole thing myself. If you want to get something done, then do it yourself seems to be the message.
Why ‘The Welsh Bill Jones’ ?. There’s a great female folk singer out there named Bill Jones (aka Belinda), there’s an American country singer named Bill Jones, and a Scottish rockabilly singer named Billy Jones, so ‘The Welsh Bill Jones’ should save any confusion. Plus the obvious of course, I’m from North Wales U.K.
The one piece of assistance in making the album I did receive, was from vocalist Sarah Lee, she did a duet with me on Queen Of America. All proceeds from the sale of my albums on CD Baby will go towards Sarah Lee’s much needed eye surgery, the songs are also available for sale on Auctionsongs.com.
Enjoy......and remember, if you want to make that guitar sound good, you’ve got to play it every day.
