Four years after the release of The Blues Blazers' "Death of the Bad Man", Tom Gross returns with his debut solo album, Exercising the Demons. In twelve tracks, Tom taps into his love for music of all eras to create a sound that is unique yet somehow familiar.
A native of Florida, Tom Gross now lives in the coastal town of Tanabe, Japan. The first attempt at recording "Exercising the Demons" began in the fall of 2002, but it wasn't until mid-2003 that the momentum started to build and real progress was made. Thanks to the portability of the recording equipment used, Tom was able to work in different places to lay down the separate tracks of each song. Several songs contain tracks that were, believe it or not, recorded in a makeshift studio in the back of Tom's minivan. Speaking of which... ***PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me if the disc you purchase is defective. I have discovered a few CDs that were not printed correctly and therefore will not play. I will be happy to ship a replacement CD if you find out yours doesn't work. My apologies! (More than just a sales ploy, Tom wishes to make the point that a song recorded in a motor vehicle can sound every bit as good as a song recorded anywhere else) From Tom: Imagine my surprise when I heard "All for You" (the second track) on the radio as I was driving the other day. Granted I have a friend at the station, but airplay is airplay! Check out Tom's website for more information on the album (including lyrics) and updates on other musical doings!
