Definitely not a "stand there and play kinda guy," Ken McCoy and his band Crosswind put on a high-energy show with a strong personal connection with the audience. Raised on country music, McCoy was inspired from family gatherings listening to his father play guitar and sing old Roger Miller, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams songs. Less than a year after purchasing a used guitar, McCoy wrote his first song and at the youthful age of fifteen started playing professionally.
Ken's writing reflects some of his heroes, the likes of Waylon Jennings, Steve Earle and Billy Joe Shaver. Ken and his band have recieved a number of nominations and awards from the BCCMA. They are currently touring and working on a third CD for 2004. For more information checkout Ken's website at www.mccoycountry.com .
