BILLY ARNOLD was born at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. He spent the majority of his formative years in South Central Florida where his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and playing basketball. In school he excelled at baseball and football and somewhere along the way he managed to teach himself to play the guitar and harmonica which have ultimately become his first love.
At the age of eighteen, he moved to Georgiana, Alabama and began to pursue his music earnestly. This lead him to play at many of the major hot spots: Rodeo Nights (Santa Fe, NM), Cowboys in Atlanta, Jackson, MS, Mobile, AL, Hattisburg, MS, Vicksburg and many others. He cut his teeth on such musical influences as George Strait, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard and Clint Black. He also developed a keen sense for Southern Rock and The Blues during this period.
Billy's musical preference eventually became Traditional Country. His favorite song "Better Off In A Pine Box" speaks volumes about that. Thru the years he's been in and out of several of the top bands in his area: Common Ground, Backwood Boy's and Eclipse to name a few. He has also done his share of solo performances at a variety of venues throughout Alabama: Rattlesnake Rodeo in Opp, Strawberry Festival in Castleberry, Collard Green Festival in Evergeen, Cancer Society Benefit in Monroeville and various other cancer benefits from Ohio to Alabama.
