Darrell Ellis was born January 24, 1982. Darrell first showed an interest in performing country music at the age of 2, when he received a toy Dukes of Hazzard guitar for Christmas. He entertained family and friends every chance he could, strumming his toy guitar and singing songs by artists ranging from Gene Autry to George Jones to Ricky Skaggs. When Darrell was around 11 years old, his grandfather gave him his first real guitar and at the age of 12, he began taking lessons from his father - who himself had been an accomplished musician in many bands throughout the midwestern United States and beyond. At the age of 13, Darrell performed his first real concert on May 30, 1995 during a school assembly where he received three standing ovations!
In April 1997, at the age of 15, Darrell released his first cassette, "Golden Country Favorites" (no longer available). The album was produced, and all instrumental accompaniment was performed through overdubbing, by Darrell. In October 1998, the Midwest Country News nominated him "MCN Junior Entertainer Of The Year".
In 2005, Darrell celebrated his 10th anniversary as an entertainer by releasing his first CD, "Your Secret's Safe With Me" featuring 11 country standards and a song written by himself, "(Don't Worry Heart) Your Secret's Safe With Me".
Darrell performs only traditional country music; songs recorded from the 1940s to the 1960s by artists such as Ernest Tubb, Hank Thompson, Faron Young, George Jones, Hank Williams, and other classic country legends.
