I was born and raised on a small farm in Saskatchewan, Canada and got my first guitar for my 16th birthday. Ever since I can remember I have had a love for country music. I played with my first band called "Country Pride" in Saskatchewan, playing the usual gigs such as bars, dances and rodeos. I moved to Alberta in 1990 and have played for anyone that would hold still and listen. I have recorded two other albums in the last three years; let's just call them an experience, that is to say where they were recorded. This album called Thanks for the Break is what I call a real album with six original songs on it and all professional musicians. I've always toyed with writing and started serious writing about three years ago. The songs that I write are mostly about life experiences. Anything that may be conjured up while on the trail. I play music wherever they let me and when required I surround myself with the best pickers I can get a hold of. Outside of the usual spots to play, I have played Cowboys Festivals such as Stony Plain, Alberta and Kamloops, B.C. I am now a retired peace officer and have devoted most of my time to music. My stage name is Frank Ervin and I call my band Silver Spur, playing good ol' Country Music and some Cowboy as well. We'll hope to see every body somewhere down the trail.
