Gail Marie Was born in the small town of Houma, South of New Orleans Louisiana. At the age of five and with a live band, the first song I perform was "You ain't women enough to take my man." From age five to sixteen I was involved in many beauty pageants and performed in many of them. At age of eleven my Mom and Dad bought me a complete band equipment set up. I practice a whole lot and at the age of sixteen I started to perform with my own band and felt that this was something that was going to be in my life forever. I enjoy singing, performing and house back riding. As I got older, I knew that I first had to live God, Family then my dream. I wanted to be there for my family 100%. So when I met the love of my life that's what I did, I moved to Jefferson Parish Louisiana with my husband. My belief in God has always been there for me. When our children started school, I became Parent Club President. My sister-in-law Susan Koob and I spent many hours in school and I realize how much an incentive program would help the teachers within there class rooms and also give a little incentive to the students which would make a difference with their grades and attendance. The Parent Club ran many fund raisers to fund this incentive program and little did I realize I was going to use my singing to accomplish some of the incentive for the students. As time past and the students became older they told me it made a difference to them. Hopefully, with the success of the CD, we plan to propose a "Gail Marie Student Incentive Program" to continue to improve on the success that we've had in the past. A lot of prayers from family, friends and fans lead me to the right people and right places in Nashville. First to Waveland Mississippi for national Karaoke contest. Then to Jackson Mississippi for an audition for a Nashville demo album. Finally to Nashville where I met some very nice and amazing people who made me feel right at home. With the help of acquaintances Hugh Randall and Mike Kelly I met David King with Ridgewood Music who began putting the project together. Many songs were sent to me by major songwriters and publishing company such as BMI, ASCAP, EMI etc. Soon I had the ten songs that are on my album and proceeded to record at Bayou Studio. Ironically, a Houma girl from the Bayou State of Louisiana goes to Nashville's Music Row to record at Bayou Studio. A group of great musicians were picked to accompany me on the CD such as Buddy Hyatt (Piano, keys, B-3 and Banjo & Percussion) David Hungate (Bass Guitar) The late Randy Hardison (Drums) His life as been tragically taken in 2002. Vic Clay (Acoustic Guitars) Danny Parks (Electric Guitars) Joe Spivey (Fiddle, Mandolin & Acoustic Guitar, Bruce Bouton (Steel & Dobra Guitars) Mike Johnson (Steel, Dobra & Pedalbro) Engineers are George Clinton, Barry Sentre & Greg Hayes and Bayou Studio. My producer David King and I are appreciative of Hugh Randall and Mike Kelly efforts in placing this CD (Gail Marie - It's Just Me) in the hands of important people in music industry. All help is greatly appreciated. I feel that having a gift is being able to help others. I would like to thank all my supporters, especially my husband Allen and my three wonderful children who have continually supported me.
