Right out of high school I joined my first band, picking guitar and singing. Shortly thereafter, I joined the Air Force and while stationed overseas played in several bands. Upon taking my discharge, in Anchorage, Alaska I played in bands at night and worked in Civil Service daytimes.
Longing to be in the lower 48 states, I drove from Anchorage to San Antonio, Texas. and along the way, applied for work at FAA and was called back to work there. Shortly after, I joined another band and we traveled. Then I got my own band and we played the ski resorts in Colorado, and other places. Of course, they always gave us free drinks for the band, and I managed to get into a lot of trouble due to alcohol. This went on for many years, till one Sunday morning my then wife asks, "do you want to go to church?" I said something like, "No, I don't need that". She left and I was sitting around the house, when all of a sudden, like in a daze, I was dressed and walking out the door, down the road and my neighbor comes out of his driveway and asks, "Where you going?" "Guess to church", I said. "Hop in and I'll take you". Wow!!! 5 miles later, I got out. and thanked him, walked into Church and sat down with the family, and when the Pastor makes the "call", something picks me up and gets me down the isle. On my knees, I accepted Jesus as my personal savior. Wow!!! It was like a ton of bricks fell off my shoulders!!! 14 years later, on 3/8/92, I woke up in jail from a D.W.I. and was I miffed? I said "God, there's got to be a better life that this ... please take away my desire for alcohol, in the name of Jesus Christ!!!" and He did!!! It was a Miracle!!! I then prayed for songs to reach people for Jesus ... and He has answered that prayer, too. He has given me the words, and tunes, to over 30 songs, and I now have 2 CDs out; This one and soon, "Don't you think it's time?" My Prayer is that these words will be an encouragement to those who know the Lord Jesus Christ and those who don't know Him, will come to know Him. Now that I have found Him, I want never to forget Him. "where could I go but to the Lord!" He has totally changed my life, and has saved me countless times from dying: from wrecks, and drownings, cause He knew I'd be of some use someday. Praise God!!!
