Larry Woosley has his new CD, Guitars in Heaven, available for sale . The CD was cut in LaBelle,FL at M & R Christian Music, produced by Ismael"Milo" Reyes, to whom Larry is eternally grateful for all his help.Ever since he won third place in a school talent show, Larry Woolsey has been hooked on singing, playing guitar and entertaining. Between Dad, W.G., and older brother, Tommy, Larry learned to pick a guitar. He remembers quite well singing “Tom Dooley†for that first talent show at age ten.In the last few years Larry has found his true gift. Writing Christian Country, or Gospel Country songs has become his passion. Larry says, “The Lord has given me a gift and I have a job to do.†Bringing others to Christ through his music, just like his younger brother Danny did. Passing on a blessing is how Larry puts it.Listeners receiving a blessing is only one part of it. The other part is the release he personally experiences through writing and singing his wonderful thoughtful melodies. As with most country music, the lyrics tell a story. Whether it be soulful, comical or profound, the nine original songs on his CD, Guitars in Heaven, all have a message and tell of his love for the Lord. After he rededicated his life to the Lord, he said, “The songs just came out.†Sometimes staying up all Saturday night working on a new song, he would have it ready for Sunday morning worship service.Larry admits that his family strayed away from church. Larry, his wife of almost 20 years, Ellen, and his two kids rededicated themselves to being regular church goers about four years ago and is now an Elder at the First Christian Church and choir member under the direction of Joan Miller and Linda Maddox. He says that the warmth and love he feels there are so welcoming that it “feels just like coming home.†Performing with the Buckshot Country Band as back-up singer and rhythm guitar for the last several years is not the same as writing his Christian County songs with their Blue Grass flavor. He is especially proud that his 19-year-old son, L.M., co-wrote and sang one of the numbers, entitled, “Lord This Ain’t Easy.â€Losing older brother Tommy and younger brother Danny, both suddenly, has given him a certain perspective n one that he did not ask for. Looking back on the many years he worked in the family business side-by-side with both of his brothers he realizes what a blessing it was. And yes, he did take that for granted.Larry doesn’t expect to get rich off the sale of his CD’s. His hopes are to be able to professionally re-package them and then who knows? Only God knows the plan for Mr. Larry Woosley.
