Laura has always been a "performer;" putting on shows for anyone who would watch, at the age of 3 or 4. At age 7, Laura first sang with an organized choir, the Texas Girls' Choir.
While with the Texas Girls' Choir, Laura was bitten by the "stage bug." While in the choir, she had the opportunity to travel to many towns in the Dallas/Ft. Worth (Texas) area, as well as Houston, San Antonio, New York City, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. When Laura was 12 years old she had her first audition at a Texas "Opry." It was all very exciting, and of course Laura was "called back" to sing. Laura performs regularly at many opries in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. She sings several nights each week, and is booked months in advance. In addition to singing at opries, Laura has gotten to perform at many other types of events: retirement centers, anniversary parties, street dances, class reunions, Mayfest, birthday parties, DFW Airport (singing to holiday travelers), parades, nursing homes, Spring Festivals, and school choir concerts. She even sings at restaurants in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area! Laura has had the opportunity to sing in some spectacular, and sometimes very sobering events. She has been asked several times to sing for the organization "The Parents of Murdered Children;" she performed several songs at their National Convention in Ft. Worth. Laura has traveled to New York City twice, to sing to the firefighters. She has performed at a dedication ceremony in Oklahoma City, and at River Fest outside of Chicago, Illinois. She was also invited to sing at the Braschler Theatre in Branson, Missouri. Laura was one of the four performers who was asked to sing just prior to Steve Holy coming on stage, at an Oklahoma City concert. In May 2002 Laura had the unique experience of filming a video-bio in Nashville. It was produced by her manager, Gus Barba. The video-bio includes 2 original songs (written for Laura), 2 cover tunes (Crazy and Misty Blue), and interviews with Mel McDaniel (Louisiana Saturday Night) and Johnny K (DJ at WSM Radio, in Nashville). It includes footage at the Owen Bradley Park, which is at the entrance to "Music Row." These 4 songs are on her latest CD, "I'm Not Britney." In addition to the video interview with Johnny K, Laura also had a live interview on "The Opry Star Spotlight" with the well-known DJ. While in Nashville, Laura also sang at the famous "Tootsie's Orchid Lounge," The Stage on Broadway," and "The Nashville Palace." Fan Fair 2004 and 2005 were unique experiences for Laura. She was the featured performer at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville. Laura had several shows during Fan Fair, and had the opportunity to meet many of her fans. Laura has already been invited back for Fan Fair 2006, to perform at the Hard Rock Cafe. Laura is truly a "rising star," shining so brightly. She gives her heart and soul to the audience at every performance, and has the dedication and ambition to keep doing so for years to come!
