Mooreville, Mississippi -- Sunset Music Group will be releasing Michael Lane Adams "Backroads" on September 21, 2004.
Michael Lane Adams started out playing piano and honing his vocal skills in the choir at Southern Baptist Church in Sherman, Mississippi. His first break into the industry was when he played with Southern Comfort. While on the road, they opened up for various acts such as Wild Roses, etc. Michael's next stint lasted about a decade with Still Country. During this time period, they performed at every function from benefit programs to trail rides to Christmas parties.
As of most recently, Michael was signed to a professional recording contract with the independent label, Sunset Music Group. Earlier this year, Michael appeared as the headlining act and performed his first single, "Meet Me Tomorrow" amongst other tunes off "Backroads" at Philadelphia's Annual Ham Jam Festival in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Predominantly, the country music scene has suffered from the "cookie cutter" mentality. Michael's distinctive voice captivates the listening audience and creates a niche that will ultimately set him apart from the rest.
Michael remains very optimistic about his future. Sunset Music Group is currently scheduling a promotional tour before the release of "Backroads." ARTIST PROFILE
Michael Lane Adams is the next up and coming country-recording artist arising out of the Magnolia State. His debut release "Backroads" takes the listening audience on a journey that explores the essence of love and life itself. Two years ago, Michael met Ricky Griggs, President and CEO of Sunset Music Group, while working in a furniture plant. The both teamed up together and started writing and producing music as a duo. Now after years of crafting his art, Michael is now ready to take the country music industry by storm. As of most recent times, Michael won Y95's 2003 talent contest that took place in Meridian, Mississippi on Y95 Radio. This created a demand for his recordings, in which some of Michael's recordings are now reaching into new markets such as Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, etc.
Therefore, with the release of "Backroads" he hopes to share his life experiences with the world. On the albums second single "No Place Like The USA" he pays homage to his native country and delivers an endearing message of pride for all Americans to enjoy. The great Hank Williams Jr. and his Bama band, Waylon Jennings, Merle Hagard and several new artists are the individuals who influenced Michael musically. His hobbies consist of playing music, fishing and camping.
Michael is happily married to his wife, Ann Adams, and they are the providers for their two-teenage sons, Shayne and Corey. On "Like Yesterday" he reflects on the good ole days and gives his listeners an up close and personal look into his truest thoughts. Michael interjects, "Being able to write about my life experiences has strongly influenced my song writing." This statement tends to be very relevant and consistent theme throughout "Backroads."
However, his biggest inspiration came from his grandmother who passed away last year. She always had faith in Michael and continually supported him throughout his career. He explains, "She always told me that I was going to achieve my dreams. She always believed in me and always encouraged me." There is a plaque in his grandmother's home that states, "Dare To Dream." Therefore, his dream has always been to be able to do something important with his music. Endured the struggle. Relate life experiences.
