After playing the "top 40" bar circuit in and around Kansas City, and often hearing that he should be doing country, Mike began to write his own material, and was surprised to see that what he was writing was indeed "country"! Mike's earliest musical memories are of Country Music greats like Porter Wagoner, Kitty Wells, Jim Ed Brown,Hank Snow, George Jones,and Little Jimmy Dickens to name just a few.
Growing up listening to Motown, Bubblegum, Soul,Rock and Roll, Beach Music, Car Music, Folk and Pop, widened Mikes style. This album tells you where it came from-Where it's going is impossibIe to say. One thing's for sure. It's good stuff. It's not like anyone else's. It's pure MIKE WEST.
