Penelope Torribio was a teacher and mother before she ever touched a guitar, sang outside her bathroom or wrote a songs. She got a guitar for $10 at a swap meet and a beginning rock guitar book and not ready to go to the next song in the book began writing her own songs. Within 6 months she began sharing her songs with writers groups and colleges and several years later formed her own band, "Penelope and A Little Bit of Gold." She played with the band at night, taught during the day, and raised a family in- between. Her band played all the major and many of the minor L.A. Venues and from this came the album "Headed for A Good Time."
Many people have expressed interest in her roots music, music about her family. So here it is, Family Man, an acoustic album with favorites: Tiny Little Shoes, What's Grandma Got That I Ain"t Got, I Love the Way You Lie, Ordinary Woman, and I Love How You Love Me and more.
