Roger is a multinstrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. His music career spans over four decades. Roger began at a very young age singing harmony vocals at barn dances and weddings. At the age of nine he got his first guitar and by the time he was twelve he was performing with his mom's band.
In his twenties he decided to "hit the road." After three decades on the road, Roger proudly says he's traveled over a million miles, met thousands of incredible music fans, and has had the opportunity to play venues ranging from honky tonks to the "Big Stage." While on the "Big Stage" he performed with artists such as Dottie West, Kathy Mathea, Chris Ladeaux, Darryl Singletary, Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass, Bruce Hauser, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
His travels allowed Roger to spend many years in the Rocky Mountains, which sparked an inspiration to start writing his own songs. The road eventually led Roger back to his home state of Minnesota where he set up his own studio, began recording his material, and started his current job of playing sideman to Midwestern Country legend, Sherwin Linton.
Sherwin's show allows many of Roger's musical talents to shine including steel guitar, dobro, and hot pickin on his pride and joy a 1962 Fender Tele. Playing with Sherwin also has given him the opportunity to backup many of his childhood heroes such as Tommy Cash, Stonewall Jackson, Jeannie Sealy, and Rockabilly Queen - Wanda Jackson.
With Sherwin's encouragement, Roger was inspired to compile songs for the release of his first solo CD. So kick back, put your feet up and enjoy Roger's Bighorn Mountain Home!!!
