I was borned in nebraska on a farm and i saw the dust kicked up around the john deer tractor wheels and it inspired me to write the song

I have served in the army in world war 2
in New Genie got injured by a land mine
and my arm is on a hing, i have a new nose
and schraptnel in my leg. When i got home, i
i went back to writing music and playing in gigg's
and in 1967 i was on the stage at the Grand ol Opery till 1973.
