Well…here it is our new CD Honky Tonk Daddy, it was recorded in three days with no overdubs of any kind we just set up the microphones turned on the recorder and let it rip. All of the songs were written by the Bays Brothers and features Jeff on the vocals, and Tim on the upright doghouse bass. Honky Tonk Daddy also features three of the finest musicians in the roots music field today, the great Eddie Biebel who can usually be found playing guitar for Wayne â€the train†Hancock on lead guitar, and the incomparable Eddie Rivers of Asleep at the Wheel on the straight steel guitar, also joining us is guitar wiz Bart Weilberg. It was an absolute blast working in the studio with these talented musicians and we say thanks to them for taking time out of their busy schedules to help us with our project.
Honky Tonk Daddy is a CD we had to make. We felt we needed to show our genuine love of true country music, this is not a demonstration of music that time has passed by, but hopefully, proof that this music is timeless. This CD is for anyone who likes their music straight up with no frills, no irony, no tricks, and for those of us who know that a stiff drink and the right song on the jukebox can be your two best friends.
Honky Tonk Daddy is a family affair with all the members of the Bays family kicking in, the cover art is a pencil drawing of our great Grandfather and was drawn by our very talented mother Linda Bays. The CD was recorded in our own Otisdog Studios, and was produced, engineered, and mixed by the Bays Brothers, we owe a lot to the members of our family, and we love them all.
We hope you enjoy listening to Honky Tonk Daddy as much as we enjoyed making it; this CD was truly a labor of love.
