Destination is a variety of compositions with peaceful melodies and rich harmonies by the husband and wife team of Buck and Jenny Roberts. The style of the compositions vary from light classical to soft jazz with a well balanced rhythmic feel. The ten compositions display many timbres with various instrumentation utilized. Eight of the compositions are centered around beautiful melodies performed on the oboe and English horn, one piece is a light jazz piece performed on flugelhorn and one on solo piano.
About the artists:
Buck Roberts graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and plays piano, keyboards, guitars, and flugelhorn on this recording. He leads a contemporary Christian worship band with his wife, Jenny, in Boone, NC.
Jenny Roberts holds two degrees from Appalachian State University: a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and a Masters in Oboe Performance. She has served as a church musician for 24 years and has performed with the Asheville Symphony, the Western Piedmont Symphony, the Hickory Choral Society, the Symphony of the Mountains and many church groups.
Together, the Roberts founded Selah Worship Ministries to equip churches and worship ministries in the spiritual and practical issues surrounding progressive, contemporary praise and worship.
