Jim Gibson has been a commercial pianist in Atlanta since the 1970s, and has played, "every imagianable kind of piano gig." From years of wide-ranging experience--including shows, dinners, dances, grand-openings, weddings, receptions, church services and lots of other kinds of music jobs--Jim has learned that "simple is good . . . and the melody shouldn't be lost in the notes."
He says, "When I was younger, I'm afraid that I was in the 'let's see how many notes per second we can play' school . . . but I've learned from listening to great musicians, like Miles Davis and Ahmad Jamal, for example, that it's not how MANY notes you play . . . it's WHICH notes you play that make a song special." This is Jim's fourteenth CD for Hickory Cove Music, and he has thousands of fans and followers around the world. We know of dentists in England and Scotland, tea shops in Australia, and restaurants in Singapore that play Jim's music because there is something special about it . . . and you'll enjoy Jim's easy blending of styles, too.
