Lemur Duo, unique viola and piano/keyboard ensemble was created in early '90 in Poznań, Poland by two young musicians - violist Marcin Murawski and pianist Bartosz Melosik, who attended the same school. After years of experimenting in various group, gaining experience and knowledge, and achieving awards and univerisity diplomas (both finished Academy of Music in Poznań, PL with highest degrees, Summa cum laude) they musical way has parted. Murawski become a viola teacher at Academy, gained DMA in 2004, studied at Europe's best viola teachers and become renowned player with over 200 concerts and recitals played in most European countries (France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Ukraine to name few), and in Egypt. On the other hand - Melosik - formed several rock groups, played on keybord and singed leading vocal parts. In 2000 joined Malgorzata Ostrowska Group - kind of legendary rock band in Eastern Europe, compared in fame to Tina Turner or Allanah Myles. In this top professional squad he is playing keyboard and doing more than 50 concerts per year. And so, quite incidentally, two guys from school came across to the idea of recoring viola and keyboard album, that would consist of pure banquet, light and easy-to-pick music. In the end, they chose 19 track from El Choclo to Strangers in the Night, from J.S. Bach' Sinfonia to M. Mussorgski's Old Castle (from his legendary "Pictures at an Exhibition"), from polish hit song Pod Papugami sung by Cz. Niemen to italian traditionas like O sole Mio, or La Spagnola. And so this album was created, and - like in the fairy tales - they played numerous concerts with this kind of repertoire as people liked to hear them playing, feeling comfortable and rested. Just as in the retro days of '20 and '30... as you can clearly see instpirations in graphic and music style of this label.
