Newell Oler (8/17/1934-10/21/2001) was born in Tyler, Texas on August, 17 1934. Blessed with the gift of perfect pitch for music, the joys of improvisation began to influence his work at an early age. At this time, Newell began studying with German, Italian and Russian teachers and composers, pursuing this quest for excellence through his college years. His career spanned over five decades and his accomplishments were many. From teaching children and writing children's music, to performing in various highly respected bands and orchestras, Newell's experiences eventually led him to his distinguished solo career. He shared his gift, playing the finest venues in the Dallas area, including the Loew's Anatole Hotel for twelve years. As a recording artist, Newell produced 25 CDs of his own inspired piano interpretations of classic and popular compositions, as well as his own original works.
