Tommy Strange, a Nashville native, played guitar in jazz and rock bands during high school and college. After college, he toured the Southeast in dance and show bands. He plays sessions, writes songs, and performs styles from country to funk.
Together, they started as the rhythm section for a Nashville studio, playing on demos and custom album projects. They formed a R&B band and opened for Mark Farner(Grand Funk Railroad). Later they realized jazz was their calling.By blending jazz, blues, funk, and R&B, the result is smooth jazz with character by the Strange-Hutchens Ensemble.
They have played various jazz festivals, and can be heard playing around Nashivlle.
The CD maintains a laid_back, late-night, drivin down the California coast highway mood. No over produced clutter here, says the Tenneesee Jazz and Blues Society.
