He rarely has to "pay to play" anymore and, in the years since, has gotten to play at some great venues as well as for some great events and shows. He has also earned a reputation as one of the best solo acts in Arizona. And though it took a while for Jim to be convinced that his music should be recorded, we think it was worth the wait.
With his album, "Anything's Possible", Jim has captured a feel that hasn't been heard in a long time. The album has a late 60's early 70's feel to it.
When asked what style of music he plays, he says: "I would call it modern classic rock, but then you have to ask the question; Is classic rock a genre? Or is it music that we just can't bring ourselves to call "Golden Oldies"? I love the music from the late 60's and early 70's. That's where all of my influences came from." And we think he was influenced well.
We think that we should just call Jim's music - Rock. Much like the music that we now call classic rock. Back in that era it didn't matter whether it was Simon & Garfunkel or Led Zeppelin; James Taylor or The Allman Brothers; Jim Croce or Pink Floyd; It was all just Rock and we think Jim Lugo is just the next artist to come along who writes music in that style.
This album has a little bit of everything; Love songs, broken heart songs, blues, rock, and a little social commentary - that's that 60's-70's thing at work again.
So sit back, relax, light some incense, turn on the black light and get ready to groove.
We think you're gonna dig it.
