A drummer for many years, Ralph finally realized that true artistic and creative control comes from playing a melodic instrument and from songwriting. His music has several vague influence -- British pop, soft acoustic rock styles of today -- but most of his music stresses vertical angularity in the melody. "I don't see the point in droning on forever in a song," he says. "The point of music is to reflect, and to evoke, emotional content, and that's best done with a soaring melody."
