Ben Roberts currently lives in San Francisco and has been playing music his entire life. He studied classical violin as a child in eastern North Carolina, before venturing into other styles of music, such as bluegrass and jazz. He graduated from a liberal arts college in central Iowa named, aptly enough, Central College.

After that, he lived in Nashville and central Illinois before moving to the Bay Area in 2000. During these travels he acquired a variety of job skills, such as: assembling cookies in cookie tins, landscaping with "scented" mulch, and collaborating with fear-mongering tech-heads on Y2K projects. He currently teaches music privately and in the public schools.

Some of the groups he has played with are Tombstone Trailer Park (Nashville) and Firecracker (San Francisco). He currently plays with an Irish rebel band called the Bog Savages, as well as The End of History, which performs 'new fusion' music in the style of the album, 'The Dividing Line'. He plays classical music professionally with the Santa Cruz Symphony. In the summer of 2005, he attended the Arab Music Festival.
